We accept children who have been identified as having needs that fall into the following three categories taken from SEND Code of Practice

Children and young people with ASD, including Asperger’s Syndrome and Autism, are likely to have particular difficulties with social interaction.

Sensory and/or physical needs

Some children and young people require special educational provision because they have a disability which prevents or hinders

them from making use of the educational facilities generally provided.

Our service offers a maximum of 15 hours per week per child.

The referral must to be completed by the school or local authority.

Parents and Carers can request a placement through the school or the local authority SEND Statutory Assessment and Review Service (SENDSARS) team for their child.

We do not accept referrals for children who have Social Emotional Mental Health/ADHD as their primary need.

We offer a clear tiered package of support:

Targeted support for children in mainstream

Time limited placements in AP with a return to original school

Transitional placements for children to transition to a different school.

Referrals will be triaged and discussed then schools informed of the next steps of the process, this will include an observation visit and further discussions with the LA/School.  Hugi Hub and Den or Hugi Nest quality assurance visits must be completed by the school.

A visit from the child and family prior to a place being finalised is vital.
