About us

2019
🌱 Tiny Hands Big Futures is founded
Our first centre opens as an Early Years training centre, built on over 30 years of experience within schools and local authority SEND teams, with a vision to support children and families differently.
2020
🏡 Hugi Hub Halfway opens
The service evolves into a small, bespoke alternative provision, supporting 6 children with a team of 3 staff laying the foundations for our relational, therapeutic approach.
2021–2022
🌿 Developing the Hugi approach
Through close work with children, families and professionals, our model grows, rooted in belonging, connection and emotional safety. During this time, our Danish-inspired hygge approach becomes embedded, creating calm, nurturing environments where children feel safe, comfortable and able to be themselves.
2023
🌲 We expand and open Hugi Nest
Our provision grows to include a nature connected environment, influenced by Scandinavian approaches to wellbeing and outdoor learning. Children are supported to build relationships, tolerance and engagement through calm, shared experiences in nature.
2024
🦉 Foundations at Hugi is embedded
Our curriculum becomes clearly defined, supporting children through stages of connection, engagement and growth, with Danish-inspired principles of slowing down, comfort and belonging woven throughout.
Today
✨ A growing team, spaces and specialist offer
Hugi continues to grow, now supporting 43 children on roll with a dedicated team of 16 employees and growing. Our environments have expanded to include carefully developed therapeutic spaces and a dedicated sensory room, further supporting regulation, engagement and wellbeing. We remain rooted in a Danish-inspired approach, prioritising warmth, relationships and emotional safety, working in partnership with schools, local authorities and families to support children to reconnect with education.
And we’re just getting started…

Our team
Founded by Tracy Rodgers, Hugi Hub operates across two dedicated premises, each overseen by its own experienced manager. We are proud to employ a highly qualified team of over 20 staff members, most of whom hold degrees and bring extensive, hands-on experience in both general childcare and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). To ensure we provide the most comprehensive support possible for every child, we also contract in dedicated experts, such as speech and language therapists, professional play therapists. At Hugi Hub, your child's safety and privacy remain our highest priorities; in strict adherence to our safeguarding policies, we do not share staff names or photographs online.
